FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to titanium metallurgy and can be used in the development of quartz-leucoxene sandstones of the Yareg and Pyzhem deposits, in which more than 60% of the titanium reserves of Russia are concentrated. The method for processing quartz-leucoxene concentrates to produce artificial porous rutile, synthetic needle wollastonite and calcined quartz sand includes reducing magnetizing firing of quartz-leucoxene concentrate, magnetic separation of the burnt concentrate, autoclave leaching of titanium concentrate with lime milk in the presence of NaOH activator, separation of artificial porous rutile from calcium metasilicate by wet magnetic separation and drying, hydrate filtration CaSiO3, drying and calcining it, at the same time, the magnetizing firing of quartz-leucoxene concentrate is carried out using natural gas and air, in the temperature range of 850-1150°C, during magnetic separation of the burnt concentrate, calcined quartz sand is additionally obtained, before autoclave leaching, the titanium concentrate is ground to a fineness of -0.315 mm, autoclave leaching of titanium concentrate is carried out for 1.5-2 hours, and the NaOH content in the solution is maintained in the range of 3-25 g/l.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing the degree of titanium extraction with the associated production of calcined quartz sand.
