SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of medicine and pharmaceutics, namely to empty liposomes for use in the treatment or prevention of a bacterial infection, where liposomes contain cholesterol in the amount of 40 wt.% or more and sphingomyelin; as well as to the use of the specified liposomes for the treatment or prevention of a bacterial infection; and to a method for the treatment or prevention of a bacterial infection, including the administration to a patient who needs it of therapeutically effective amount of the specified empty liposomes.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides for the expansion of the arsenal of antibacterial agents.
