FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mining, in particular to devices for taking samples from the upper layer of bottom sediments of subglacial reservoirs, capable of walking along the bottom surface with the possibility of delivering them to the required depth through a well previously drilled in the ice mass. The walking sampler includes a cylindrical body, a load-carrying cable and a valve for isolating the sample taken from the environment. The housing consists of a central section and side sections, which are installed symmetrically with respect to the central section and are connected at one end to the central section by plain bearings with the possibility of rotation relative to the longitudinal axis of the device, and at the other - with guide cones, which are made of a material whose density is less than that of water. The tops of the cones are connected to the load-carrying cable. Inside the central section, an engine is fixed, which is connected to lead screws with left and right threads, the trunnions of which are fixed in guide cones. On the lead screws with left and right threads, nuts are installed, on the outer side of which mutually perpendicularly installed lugs are rigidly fixed, connected to the rods through hinges. The opposite ends of the rods are hinged on the sampler tubes by hinges that are mounted on the walls of the housing with the possibility of placement in through longitudinal holes. The shape and size of the holes in the walls of the body corresponds to the shape and size of the sampling tubes. The free ends of the sampling tubes are equipped with valves to isolate the sample being taken from the external environment. The valves are made in the form of petals and secured with torsion springs.

EFFECT: creation of a walking sampler that provides multiple sampling of bottom sediments from different zones of the bottom surface of a subglacial reservoir.
