METHOD FOR OBTAINING A POLYMER MATRIX COMPOSITE MATERIAL WITH EXFOLIATED BORON NITRIDE WITH INCREASED THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC C08L23/12 C08K3/38 C08J3/21

Abstract RU 2780121 C1

FIELD: polymer-based structural composite materials.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polymer-based structural composite materials, and in particular to a method for producing polymer-matrix composites with a filler in the form of exfoliated hexagonal boron nitride. The method includes ultrasonic treatment in isopropyl alcohol for 8-24 hours of a powder of hexagonal boron nitride, the concentration of which is chosen in the range of 0.5-1.5 g/l, after which the formed exfoliated particles of hexagonal boron nitride in supernatant, which is mixed with a matrix material made by dissolving 0.9-1.5 g of low-viscosity polypropylene in 50 ml of toluene. The amount of supernatant in the mixture is chosen from the condition of the subsequent content of the filler in the composite in the amount of 3-30 wt.%. Then the solvents are evaporated from the resulting mixture and the remaining viscous mass is dried.

EFFECT: increasing the thermal conductivity of the polymer matrix composite while maintaining its mechanical properties, as well as reducing the cost of the material.
