SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to compositions and methods usable for treating various conditions, including symptoms of colds and allergies, such as nasal discharge, coughing, sneezing, sinusitis, etc. Method for treating colds, flu, a viral infection, rhinitis, sinusitis, or an allergic condition and restoring the nasal flora in a person includes the following stages: identifying a person suffering from cold-associated flu, a viral infection, rhinitis, sinusitis, or an allergic condition; producing a nasal spray composition containing: chlorpheniramine 0.4% to 1% wt.; xylitol 10% to 15% wt.; fluticasone propionate 0.03% to 1.0% wt.; aloe vera 0.02% to 2%; and at least one of benzalkonium chloride and grapefruit seed extract; and delivering the nasal spray composition into the nasal cavities of the person. Variant of the method for treating a cold, flu, a viral infection, rhinitis, sinusitis, or an allergic condition in a person includes similar stages, wherein the nasal spray composition contains: an antihistamine agent containing at least one of chlorpheniramine and diphenhydramine, wherein the content of the antihistamine agent is 0.25% to 10% wt.; fluticasone propionate 0.03% to 1% wt.; xylitol 10% to 15% wt.; aloe vera 0.02% to 2%. Nasal spray composition for treating a cold or an allergic condition contains an antihistamine agent containing at least one of chlorpheniramine and diphenhydramine, wherein the content of the antihistamine agent is 0.25% to 4% wt.; xylitol 10% to 15% wt.; fluticasone propionate 0.03% to 1.0% wt.; aloe vera 0.02% to 3.0% wt.
EFFECT: composition and methods are effective both for drying the nasal mucosa and reducing the inflammation, and for restoring and/or improving the natural nasal flora for the purpose of improving the health for a longer period of time.
