FIELD: measuring.

SUBSTANCE: use for evaluation of fineness of bast fibre. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that a fibrous sample is formed in the form of a weighed portion of a certain length and mass, its analysis is carried out by means of optical microscopy with illumination from below, its black-and-white digital image is obtained and processed with subsequent evaluation of fibre fineness by calculating the arithmetic average of the entire set of fibres width in different sections of their length, wherein the formed sample of the initial fibres is cut into pieces with a length of not more than 15 mm, their uniform layout is carried out on the slide with possible intersection of part of the pieces relative to each other, on the obtained black-and-white image, the fibres are identified as black objects and, at the centre of their width, their axes are found along their length, on the image, its parts are removed, in which the intersecting segments of the fibres are located, wherein the removal is carried out from the centre of intersection of the fibres in these parts of the image to the generatrices of the circumscribed circles, the centre of which coincides with the centre of intersection of the fibres, the value of the radii of the circles for each intersection is selected in the form of the shortest distance from the centre of intersection of the fibres to the nearest point of the white background of the image, and the fineness of the fibrous sections is estimated by determining the shortest distance from the axis to the edge of the fibres in the form of black objects after removing parts of the image with crossed fibres in them.

EFFECT: providing the possibility of reducing the duration of analysis, as well as improving the accuracy of control and information content of the analysis.
