FIELD: mining industry.
SUBSTANCE: method for studying the residual gas content of coal seams being developed in mines is claimed. The method includes the selection of coal-gas samples by a mine core gas collector, after which it is extracted from the well. The core receiver with the sample is separated from the core gas collector and sealed with plugs. Additionally, a sample of coal is taken from the mine face. The selected coal samples in the core receivers undergo primary degassing in mine conditions until the free gas is completely extracted. Secondary degassing is carried out in laboratory conditions on a stationary thermal vacuum degassing plant at a temperature of 20°C, during thermal evacuation with heating of the sample in a water bath up to 80°C, after crushing the sample in a ball mill at 80°C and vacuuming, until the gas is completely extracted after degassing. Technical analysis and component composition of coal and gas samples after degassing are carried out. According to the additionally selected coal samples, isothermal testing is carried out to determine the sorption methane capacity of coal seams. The residual gas content of the seam is determined by the ratio of the total volume of gas by degassing stages and the weight of coal samples. According to the results of isothermal testing, the Langmuir volume and the sorption methane capacity of the seam are calculated under thermobaric conditions of the seam occurrence. According to the ratio of sorption methane capacity and residual gas content, the residual gas saturation of the seam is calculated.
EFFECT: increase in the reliability of determining the residual gas content of coal seams.
