FIELD: mining; coal industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the properties of the combustible mass contained in coal when developing gas-bearing coal seams, in particular, to study the pore space of the combustible mass of coal with changing petrographic and sorption properties. The method for determining the porosity of the combustible mass of coal includes taking coal samples, measuring the volume of volatile substances, sorption characteristics of coal, petrographic differences and measuring the temperature of the mine air at the site of coal sampling. At the same time, in the selected coal samples, the volume of combustible mass, the amount of methane, microcomponents of the main petrographic differences are additionally determined, while the porosity of the combustible mass is determined by the value of the fusinite index in its connection with the release of volatile substances, thermogasdynamic conditions of coal seam development.
EFFECT: determination of the porosity of the combustible mass of coal, which contains the main amount of coal methane, micro-components of petrographic differences.
