FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for creating iron ore fines agglomerate and to an iron ore fines agglomerate resistant to manipulation, transportation, and contact with water. Method includes mixing the iron ore fines with sodium silicate, nano materials, a catalyst, fluxes, and a plasticiser; adjusting the moisture content of the mixture; agglomerating the mixture by granulation, briquetting, or extrusion; and curing at room temperature.
EFFECT: method does not require energy input for heat treatment and allows for the production of an agglomerated product with high physical and metallurgical working characteristics, in order to replace metal charge, including sintered agglomerate, in reduction furnaces, without emitting harmful gases such as CO2, dioxins, furans and SO2.
