FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of spectral analysis and pertains to a method for forming an optical spectrum. Spectrum is formed by space division of emission of different wavelengths using a vertical scan of the spectral image on the screen of a display divided left to right into vertical segments, each of said segments containing pixels emitting light at a certain monochromatic wavelength, from purple to red. The pixels are made of either light-emitting organic diodes or quantum dots. The vertical scan of the spectrum is formed in segments by alternately scanning the rows of each segment horizontally left to right and vertically top to bottom. The optical spectrum herein is represented by a set of reference optical spectra of chemical elements, the intensity of spectral lines of each of said spectra being adjusted by the image signal supplied to the outputs of pixels.
EFFECT: simplified optical circuit and increased accuracy of spectral analysis.
