Display system comprises one or more backlight light sources configured to emit a first light, wherein the first light comprises at least one of UV spectral components or spectral components of blue light; one or more light-converting layers configured to be excited with a first light and converting at least a portion of the first light into a second light, the one or more light-converting layers comprising quantum dots; logic unit for calculating colour shifts depending on corresponding distances travelled by the first light emitted from one or more light sources, before conversion to the second light; and a controller for adjusting the drive values based on the logic unit.
EFFECT: high efficiency of the display and avoiding harmful heating.
