FIELD: gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the gas industry, namely, to above-ground natural gas storage, and can be used for the storage, distribution, and delivery of natural gas, methane, or associated petroleum gas regardless of the geological and geographical characteristics of the area of location of the complex. Complex for above-ground adsorption storage of natural gas and methane comprises, arranged in series, a gas treatment unit, a gas compression unit, and a constant-pressure gas storage unit consisting of one or multiple modules for above-ground adsorption gas storage. Module for above-ground adsorption storage constitutes a vertical cylindrical high-pressure gas tank made in the form of a set of concentrically arranged cylindrical shells, one inside another, of varying diameters, wherein an annular gap is provided between said shells, filled to no more than 97% with a microporous adsorbent accumulating at least 155 nm3 of natural gas per 1 m3 of the adsorbent. Thicknesses of all of the shells are equal, and the gas storage pressure in the tank increases from the periphery towards the centre. Method for above-ground adsorption storage of natural gas and methane in the complex for above-ground adsorption storage of natural gas includes the collection of natural gas from a gas source, and treatment thereof, including the purification from solid inclusions and purification from foreign impurities. Method also includes the production of a microporous adsorbent in the high-pressure tank of the module for above-ground gas adsorption storage, followed by filling the gas storage unit with purified gas directly from the gas source via the natural gas treatment unit to the gas source pressure, and then via the natural gas compression unit to the gas storage pressure equal to 3–10 MPa.

EFFECT: ease of implementation, safety, and power efficiency of above-ground adsorption storage of natural gas.
