FIELD: natural gas, methane and hydrogen storage.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for storing natural gas, methane, hydrogen and their mixtures, in standard designs of gas tanks and cylinders, to increasing the amount of gas fuel accumulated in a gas tank or cylinder due to adsorption in a microporous material of high bulk density. The proposed method includes the storage of gases in an adsorbent layer formed into cubic blocks of a certain size, optimal for each standard size of a gas reservoir or cylinder, loaded through a loading nozzle in stages, at the end of each filling stage, the gas reservoir or cylinder is vibrated, and after filling, drying and regeneration of the adsorbent. The method makes it possible to carry out safe accumulation of gas volumes sufficient for the operation of a car, while the method of placing block adsorbent of high bulk density in gas tanks or cylinders through a loading fitting can be automated, and adsorbent blocks fill the volume of a gas reservoir or cylinder by at least 80%.

EFFECT: method contributes to the creation of energy-efficient, fire-explosion-proof systems for storing and transporting gases with an increased reserve, i.e. high density of the accumulated gas.
