FIELD: gas production industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the storage of natural gas, or methane, or the mixture of methane and hydrocarbon compounds C2, C3, C4, C5 or C6+, including all saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons under pressure in the container in the adsorbed form, and further transportation of the pressurized container with the adsorbent. Inner volume of the container is filled with nanoporous carbon adsorbent, which is selected on the basis of the expected operating conditions of the container, with the largest possible volume of nanopores, but not less than 0.50 cm3/g. For operation of the container at operating pressure up to 3.5 MPa and average temperatures below minus 30 °C the nanoporous material with the average effective nanopore width of 1.2 to 3 nm is used. At the operating pressure of over 7 MPa and temperatures below or equal to the ambient temperature, the nanoporous material with the average effective nanopore width from 0.5 to 1.25 nm is used.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is the increased adsorption capacity of the gas storage systems under pressure in the container within the low temperature range from minus 50 to plus 30 °C and the decrease in the gas storage pressure.
