SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrosurgical systems, in particular, to a system and method for automatic identification of attachments of an electrosurgical system, authentication, and single use of original surgical apparatus/appliances for an electrosurgical system. Proposed is a method for the authentication of accessories of an electrosurgical system, containing the following stages: initiating a surgical procedure via the user interface on an electrosurgical generator; automatically detecting the connection of an electrosurgical accessory to the socket of the electrosurgical generator; activating the RFID reader connected to the generator if the fact of connection of the accessory to the socket is determined; transmitting a secret password via the RFID reader to the RFID tag of the accessory; transmitting the identification code of the apparatus from the RFID tag to the generator; displaying the type of apparatus associated with the transmitted identification code of the apparatus; verifying the status of the accessory; unlocking the tag memory control if the read status code indicates that the accessory has not been previously used; reading the encrypted data from the tag memory; calculating the authentication code of the apparatus based on the encrypted data from the tag memory; transmitting the calculated authentication code to the tag; and activating the accessory if said codes match.
