FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to demulsifying compositions and their use. A demulsifying additive composition for demulsification of oil-in-water emulsions is described, wherein the composition contains: (a) the first component, which is at least one demulsifier containing oxy-alkylated alkylphenol formaldehyde polymer or copolymer, or resin, or an oxy-alkylated product of condensation of at least one alkylphenol and formaldehyde; and (b) the second component selected from a group, which consists of glyoxal, an ethylene glycol glyoxal derivative, neutralized glyoxal, and a mixture thereof; and (c) the third component, which is phosphoric acid. In this case, neutralized glyoxal is glyoxal with a neutral or main pH value. Demulsifier is selected from a group consisting of oxy-alkylated products of condensation of following substances: (1) oxy-alkylated products of condensation of following substances: i) nonylphenol, amylphenol, and formaldehyde; ii) nonylphenol, butylphenol, and formaldehyde; iii) nonylphenol and formaldehyde; iv) amylphenol and formaldehyde; v) butylphenol and formaldehyde; vi) alkylphenol and formaldehyde; and vii) mixture thereof; (2) oxy-alkylated products of condensation of following substances: i) cardanol, nonylphenol, amulphenol, and formaldehyde; ii) cardanol, nonylphenol, butylphenol, and formaldehyde; iii) cardanol, nonylphenol, and formaldehyde; iv) cardanol, amylphenol, and formaldehyde; v) cardanol, butylphenol, and formaldehyde; vi) cardanol, alkylphenol, and formaldehyde; and vii)mixture thereof. A method for demulsification of oil-in-water emulsions in the presence of the above-described composition is described.

EFFECT: improvement of the efficiency of demulsification of oil-in-water emulsions.
