FIELD: radio direction finding.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio direction finding; it can be used, in particular, for detection of unmanned aerial vehicles (hereinafter – UAV) in an automatic mode. The claimed method includes comparison of at least two detected signals at one frequency in a range, in which operation of emitting devices with UAV is the most probable. In this case, one of radio signals is received from a receiver located on the ground surface in a local area, and the second one is received from a receiver installed on an aerial object, which is located at a height of at least 50 m above the local area. When a level of the radio signal detected by the receiver on the aerial object exceeds a level of the radio signal detected on the ground surface, a conclusion is made that the radio signal is emitted from UAV board.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of detection of aircraft at the specified echelons (height ranges) in any meteorological conditions.
