FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to the continuous casting of metals. The device contains a pouring ladle with a glass, a vertical mold. The mold is formed by a working lateral drive ram with inclined upper and vertical lower sections of the working surface, a working lateral drive ram with a vertical surface, and a pair of working walls that fit snugly against the side dies and reciprocate in a vertical plane. Side strikers rotate with a phase shift of 180 degrees in one direction, which provides the greatest shear deformations in the metal and leads to better healing of defects. The drive of the moving parts of the mold is carried out from four drive shafts.
EFFECT: invention increases the intensity of shear deformations.
