SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgery. A method for correcting a rectocele, including excision of the mucous membrane of the posterior wall of the vagina, starting from the skin of the perineum to the middle of the upper third of the vagina. After that, the edges of the mucosa are separated to the sides, the anterior portions of the muscles that lift the anus are isolated in the transverse direction with gathering sutures in increments of 0.6-0.8 cm. The anterior wall of the rectum is corrugated and the levator muscles that lift the anus are sutured. Then the vaginal mucosa is sutured. In this case, the levator muscles are sutured simultaneously with the application of gathering sutures, for which, after the anterior wall of the rectum is corrugated without capturing the rectal mucosa at the level of the upper and middle thirds of the vagina, the edge of the levator muscle is captured at the level of the lower third of the vagina with one side. Then, with the same thread, gathering stitches are applied to the rectovaginal fascia, then the edge of the levator muscle is captured from the opposite side, the edges are pulled together and tied in knots, the ends of the threads are cut off, then the following sutures are also applied.

EFFECT: method allows to maintain the normal anatomical shape of the vagina and prevent dyspareunia.
