FIELD: medical toxicological research.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical toxicological research, in particular to sanitary toxicology, sample preparation and solid-phase extraction are carried out on a device containing a carbon cartridge. The method for the quantitative determination of furan and methylfuran in children's cereals includes sample preparation, for which a porridge weighing 20 g is diluted with water of 100 cm3, salting out reagents are added to it in the amount of 5 g of sodium sulfate and 5 g of sodium chloride, acidified with 2.5 cm3 of 2% - sulfamic acid solution and 0.5 cm3 of 60% sulfuric acid to pH=3. Then, 70 cm3 of sample distillate is distilled off with superheated water vapor. The resulting distillate is subjected to solid-phase extraction on a device containing a Chromabond C18 cartridge, which is first washed sequentially with 2 cm3 heptane for 3 s, 2 cm3 ethyl acetate for 5 s, and 2 cm3 water for 5 s. Next, the resulting sample distillate is loaded and the sample distillate is eluted from the cartridge with 3 cm3 heptane for 1 min. The resulting eluents are analyzed by chromato-mass-spectrometric method, establishing the quantitative content of furan and methylfuran from the chromatograms.
EFFECT: proposed method for the quantitative determination of furan and methylfuran in children's cereals allows you to reliably determine the content of a toxic substance in the product.
