SUBSTANCE: invention relates to active scanning by means of a STA station. In the method for active scanning in a wireless local area network, the scanning STA station, which recieved the first frame of the checking request from the other STA station, may initiate start of a checking timer and estimate the channel state (CCA) for determining the receiving channel state. If the channel is free before the checking timer reaches minimum channel time, scanning STA station transmits the second frame of the checking request through the receiving channel to a point AP, and if the channel is busy before the checking timer reaches minimum channel time, and scanning STA station does not receive the checking response frame, which includes at least the same information, receiving of which is based on information on scanning, the scanning STA station may transmit the second frame of the checking request through the receiving channel to a point AP.

EFFECT: technical result is increased rate of scanning procedure, elimination of problems of a hidden unit, a conflict or dependence on versions of point AP implementation.
