FIELD: environment protection.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of ecology. In the method, a light-interrupting element in the form of a truncated light-tight cone is installed between a fixed lamina and a spectral sensor with a capture angle of ±20° from the spectrometer beam, which is uniformly pressed against the lamina with a wide base by a fixing ring in the form of a magnetic nozzle. Natural light is used as a source of illumination. The spectral characteristics of light are recorded, according to which the functional state of plants is assessed, by converting the spectral transmission characteristics of the leaf into relative values by dividing the obtained spectral transmission characteristics of the leaf by the maximum value of the transmission spectrum of the leaf to normalize the digital values of the spectral sensor obtained at different intensities of natural light, for comparative spectral analysis and calculation of vegetation indices.

EFFECT: method provides an increase in the reliability of the assessment of the functional state of plants by obtaining the spectral characteristics of the lamina.
