FIELD: forestry; environmental monitoring.
SUBSTANCE: method involves preparation of samples of crowns of species of birch, linden, maple, aspen, pine, spruce, taken at the existing technogenic load of the urban settlement, measuring the spectral brightness coefficients of the species for the reference test sites, irradiation of samples with light flux with controlled intensity in pulse mode in range of 400–700 nm, reception by photodetector of fluorescence signal of samples and its conversion into digital form with variable step and sampling time, determination of photosynthesis efficiency coefficients through the ratio of the value of the current fluorescence signal (Fv) to the signal of the reference sample (Fmax), K = Fν/Fmax, calculation of efficiency decay time constant (T): where Δt=(t2−t1)—time interval between two successive measurements of efficiency (K1) and (K2); (t1) and (t2) are discrete time intervals; (K1) and (K2) are fluorescence signal values in discrete points; calculation of potential values of volume of phytomass (Φi) of each type of rock in relative units depending on function of normalized vegetation index (NDVI) for reference section, ranking the type of rocks by the value of the resultant index (IΣ) from the product of three parameters: IΣ = Φi * (Fν/Fmax) * T.
EFFECT: method provides efficiency and reliability of quantitative estimates, reduced scope of works.
