FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to continuous metal casting. Ventilated stopper rod with the temperature measurement function for the intermediate ladle of a continuous casting apparatus comprises a hollow body (3), a head (2), an apparatus (1) for measuring the temperature of molten steel, a connecting pipe (5), and gas outlet channels (6). The upper end of the body (3) is connected with the connecting pipe (5), and the lower end is connected with the head. Apparatus (1) is made tubular with one closed end and one open end, wherein the open end is connected with the head and communicates with the cavity of the body, and the closed end protrudes from the lower end of the head. The input ends of the channels (6) communicate with the cavity of the body or head and are located above the open end of the apparatus (1); wherein the distance L2 from the input ends of the channels to the open end of the apparatus (1) is greater than 0, preferably 20 to 250 mm. The output ends of the channels (6) are connected with the outer surface of the head and communicate with the external environment; wherein the distance L3 from the output ends to the external surface of the apparatus (1) is greater than or equal to 5 mm.

EFFECT: quick measurement of the temperature of the molten steel, argon purging for the purpose of preventing clogging of the casting channel and removing inclusions from the steel, and discharge of flue gases through the inner cavity of the stopper rod.
