FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for the synthesis of methanol (1), in which a stream (11) of a carbon-containing energy carrier is fed into a reactor unit (13) for producing synthesis gas to produce a stream (2) of synthesis gas containing hydrogen and carbon oxides. In this case, the synthesis gas stream (2) is fed to the heat recovery device (10) to remove the heat of the synthesis gas stream (2), and then to the synthesis gas compressor (3) to increase the pressure. Then the high-pressure synthesis gas stream (2) is at least partially fed to the first stage (21a) of the methanol synthesis reactor unit (4) for partial conversion to methanol (1). At the methanol synthesis reactor unit (4), a residual gas stream (15) containing unreacted carbon oxides is obtained, it is fed the recirculation compressor (14) to increase the pressure of the residual gas stream (15) and the high-pressure residual gas stream (15) is fed to the methanol synthesis reactor unit (4) for partial conversion to methanol (1). The diverted stream (6) from the unreacted residual gas (16a) of the first stage (21a) of the reactor is fed into the hydrogen extraction unit (5) to produce a recirculated H stream (7) containing unreacted hydrogen of the unreacted residual gas (16a), and the unreacted hydrogen of the recirculated H stream (7) is fed back to the first reactor stage (21a) for the purpose of at least partial conversion to methanol (1). Moreover, the pressure of the unreacted hydrogen of the recirculated H stream (7) is increased at least partially between the first reactor stage (21a) and the re-supply to the first reactor stage (21a) using a recirculating compressor (14) together with unreacted carbon oxides. The invention also relates to a corresponding methanol synthesis (1) unit.
EFFECT: improvement in the method for methanol synthesis by providing a favorable increase in the pressure of the extracted hydrogen.
