FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: methanol synthesis process includes feeding synthesis gas stream 1 containing hydrogen and carbon oxides to system 2 including a methanol reactor for the purpose of partial conversion to methanol. In system 2 including a methanol reactor, methanol-containing tail gas stream 3 is obtained and fed at least partially to CO2 separator 4, where recycle synthesis gas stream 5 and CO2 product stream 6 are obtained. At the same time, flow 6 of the CO2 product is characterized by a higher molar content of carbon dioxide than flow 3 of the methanol-containing residual gas. Recycle synthesis gas stream 5 is partially fed to system 2 including the methanol reactor and partially to hydrogen separator 7, where separated stream 8 is obtained, which has a higher molar hydrogen content than recycle synthesis gas stream 5. An installation for the synthesis of methanol is also proposed.
EFFECT: inventions make it possible to reduce energy consumption during operation of the installation and the load on the environment, to obtain carbon dioxide with a high degree of purity and high pressure.
