FIELD: decorative arts.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of decorative and applied arts, in particular, to decorative woven products. Invention constitutes a star woven from polypropylene tape (the 1st variant: three-dimensional star, the 2nd variant: flat star) and a method for the connection thereof. By creating a certain number of such polypropylene tape stars and interweaving the stars in a predetermined manner, various decorative and applied products can be created, from frames to more complicated souvenirs. Each star is made of four pieces of tape by weaving according to the preset pattern. First, a base is made, being a flat square with ends of tapes extending therefrom. Corners are then formed from said extending ends along the edge of the square. Four ends of the tapes end up in the centre of the composition. The principle of weaving a three-dimensional star and a flat star differ from this point. For a three-dimensional star, 4 upward-facing cones are formed in the centre. For a flat star, the four ends of the tapes are folded in flat triangles in the centre. A star (three-dimensional or flat) is formed as a result, with four tails extending from the corners located along the edge of the flat base of the star. The tails are further used for interconnection.
