SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of operation of pipelines of engineering networks and can be used when installing protective cases on them in cramped conditions. A method for installing a protective case on an existing underground pipeline in cramped conditions includes step-by-step technologies for excavating soil at the installation sites of the protective case, laying the lower 2 and upper 3 segments of the protective cases with fixing their connection to each other, longitudinal connection of the mounted parts of the protective case to the parts of the protective case installed on the pipeline case, maintaining the design position of the pipeline during excavation and installation work, ensuring the strength, tightness and durability of the “pipeline-protective case” structure. A device for installing a protective case on an existing underground pipeline in cramped conditions comprises mounting hooks 20, rigidly fixed in pairs on each of the longitudinal ribs of each of the upper segments 3 of the protective case, mounting strips 21, made with the possibility of placing mounting hooks 20 in their internal cavities and in pairs rigidly fixed on each of the longitudinal ribs of each of the lower 2 segments of the protective case, mounting bolts 22, rigidly fixed in pairs in the upper part of each of the attached lower 2 and upper 3 segments of the protective case, in pairs rigidly fixed on the corresponding lower 2 and upper 3 segments of the protective case mounting latches 23, each of which is made with a spring-loaded pendulum shutter 25, with the possibility of placing the mounting bolt 22 in the internal cavity of the mounting latch 23.
EFFECT: installing protective cases on pipelines in cramped conditions.
