FIELD: fluid clarification.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a filter element for cleaning a fluid medium. The filter element comprises a filtration material having a first end and a second end and a longitudinal axis; at least one end cap assembly having a first toroidal profile with the outlet of the filter element aligned with the longitudinal axis and next to at least one end of the filtration material; the first element having a second toroidal profile and coaxial end cap relative to the longitudinal axis; the first element located radially away from the end cap and the filtration material and located axially between the end cap and the other end of the filtration material; and a set of support arms connecting the end cap to the first element, where each support arm contains the first section extending from the end cap to the intersection point, and the second section, extending from the intersection point to the first element, with the second section offset at an angle relative to the first section. The first section extends from the end cap to the first element in the axial direction, and the second section extends from the intersection point to the first element in the radial direction.

EFFECT: provision of compaction in the filter element, reducing the volume of unfiltered fluid bypassing by the filtration material.
