FIELD: treatment of gases.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to deep purification of gases from the contained oxygen using solid sorbents and may be applied in the chemical, metallurgical industries, mechanical engineering, instrumentation, and electrical engineering. Method for purifying gas mixtures from oxygen includes the step of contacting a sorbent based on an oxide compound with the gas mixture under a high temperature. A complex barium calcium ferrite of the composition CaBaFe4O7 taken in an amount of at least 45 g per 1 oxygen contained in the gas mixture is used as a sorbent. The contacting is executed under a temperature of 450 to 600 °C.
EFFECT: oxygen purification of gas mixtures of any composition using a one-component sorbent, configured for subsequent regeneration thereof.
