FIELD: catalysts.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a catalytic technology for processing raw materials comprising carbon dioxide and concerns, in particular, a catalyst for the hydrogenation of CO2 into methanol. A catalyst for the selective hydrogenation of carbon dioxide to produce methanol is described, comprising a mixture of copper, zinc and aluminium oxides, characterized in that the molar ratio of copper oxide, zinc oxide and aluminium oxide in the mixture is 6.2:2.8:1, respectively, whereas potassium oxide is applied to the mixture of oxides in an amount of 0.2 wt.% to the final mass of the catalyst.
EFFECT: increase in the selectivity of the process to 93% while maintaining a high conversion of carbon dioxide up to 25%, as well as an increase in the stability of the catalyst for more than 110 hours.
