FIELD: chemical processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the fuel and chemical industries. Method for producing hydrogen and ethylene from methane includes the stages of supplying a methane stream to a reactor; using a catalyst containing particles of a metal selected from the following group: nickel, titanium, molybdenum, iron, cobalt; heating the catalyst by electromagnetic action, followed by releasing hydrogen and ethylene through methane conversion. The catalyst in the form of a nanopowder is supplied into a toroidal reactor simultaneously with the methane stream. A fan inside the reactor mixes and directs the dust and gas mixture to the induction heating zone, wherein the catalyst is heated to a temperature of 810 to 850 °C, resulting in dimerisation and dehydrogenation reactions, forming hydrogen and ethylene, which are stabilised in the subsequent cold zone of the reactor.
EFFECT: possibility of producing hydrogen and ethylene with a performance coefficient close to 90%.
