FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems for measuring surface topography. Topographic measurement system uses an imaging cartridge formed from a rigid optical element and a transparent elastomeric contact surface configured to capture high-resolution topographic data from the measured surface. The imaging cartridge is configured as a removable cartridge for the system, so that the imaging cartridge including the rigid optical element and the elastomeric contact surface can be removed and replaced as a singular integral component, reliable/resistant over multiple uses and can easily be replaced by the user as often as needed or preferred. The cartridge can also effectively combine multiple light-shaping and other elements in order to maintain optimal illumination and image capturing.
EFFECT: creation of a system wherein the layer of elastomer attached to the optical element is replaced quickly and easily.
