FIELD: microwave technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microwave technology and is intended for frequency multiplication of microwave signals in communication systems, radar, radio navigation, various measuring and special radio equipment. The strip frequency doubler contains a metal base and cascade-connected input and output microstrip filters. The metal base serves as a screen. The output resonator of the input filter is also the input resonator of the output filter. The first resonant frequency of the output resonator of the input filter is equal to the frequency of the input signal. The second resonant frequency of the output resonator of the input filter and the resonant frequency of the output resonator of the output filter are equal to the frequency of the output signal of the device. A magnetic film is used as a non-linear element. The input resonator of the input filter is irregular, i.e. is made with a jump in wave resistance, and the frequency of its second oscillation mode ƒ2 is higher than the doubled frequency of the first oscillation mode ƒ1. Segments of two parallel microstrip lines connected by adjacent ends by a segment of an unbalanced air-filled strip line form the output resonator of the input filter with a U-shaped strip conductor. The magnetic film is placed between the strip conductor and the screen in a segment of an asymmetric air strip line. The frequency of the third oscillation mode ƒ3 of the output resonator of the input filter is not a multiple of the frequency of the first oscillation mode ƒ1.
EFFECT: increasing the conversion factor of the device and expanding the operating frequency band while maintaining high radiation resistance.
