SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to technology for encoding/decoding video data. Proposed is a method for video decoding in a decoder. Method includes a stage of decoding prediction information for the current block in the current image being part of the encoded video sequence, wherein the prediction information indicates the internal prediction direction for the current block, said direction being (i) a diagonal internal prediction direction or (ii) an internal prediction direction neighbouring a diagonal internal prediction direction. According to the method, the application of the position-dependent prediction combination (PDPC) procedure is then determined in accordance with the internal prediction direction for the current block, wherein the same PDPC procedure is applied both to the diagonal internal prediction direction and to the neighbouring internal prediction direction.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of decoding video data.
