FIELD: asphalt concrete pavement compaction.

SUBSTANCE: caterpillar roller of a road roller for compacting asphalt concrete consists of a shell, on the outside of which a smooth shell of an elastic material is put on, and inside of which there are support rollers that are in contact with the inner surface for the entire width of the shell. The support rollers are connected at both ends by articulated four-link rods. The axes of the left and right rollers are additionally connected by a hydraulic cylinder. The shell is made of an endless caterpillar chain consisting of identical links pivotally connected to each other. The upper roller is equipped with a rotation drive located in the vertical longitudinal plane of shell symmetry and made in the form of a hydraulic drive, including a hydraulic motor, the shaft of which is connected to the drive roller shaft.

EFFECT: improving the quality and evenness of the compaction of the asphalt concrete pavement and reducing the energy intensity of the deformation of the shell.
