FIELD: accelerator technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of accelerator technology and can be used to accelerate macrobodies to high speeds using rail-type electromagnetic accelerators. The device comprises a power housing and parallel current-conducting rails located in it, support inter-rail insulators forming a sealed channel with the rails, in which a projectile body with a pallet and an anchor is located with the possibility of longitudinal movement, providing electrical contact between the rails, a source of pulsed current connected through a switch to the rails, a pallet braking device, a control unit connected to a commutator and a pallet position sensor. The pallet braking device is made in the form of a solenoid placed end-to-end with the end of the power housing as a continuation of the sealed channel and connected through an additional switch to an additional source of pulsed current and a control unit. The solenoid is made with an inner diameter equal to the caliber of the sealed channel, and a length of the solenoid equal to 1-1.5 calibers of the sealed channel, the power housing is made longer than the rails by 2-3 calibers of the pallet, forming a span dielectric section. The pallet is made in the form of a hollow thin-walled dielectric cylinder with flat ends with rounded edges. A conductive cylinder is fixed inside the dielectric cylinder. The thrown body is fixed on the outside at the front end, and the armature is made in the form of an axisymmetric conductive disk fixed on the rear end of the pallet.

EFFECT: increasing the reliability of pallet braking and providing the possibility of obtaining reliable research results at higher speeds of missiles while maintaining their initial conditions in terms of temperature and axial orientation.
