FIELD: measuring technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring technology and is intended for monitoring the condition of the battery of the backlight of the measuring device. Essence: The measuring device includes a casing, a controller, a backlit display and a battery monitoring circuit. The shutdown time of the measuring device is measured and compared with the preset recovery time of the backlight battery. If the time of disconnection of the measuring device is longer than the predetermined recovery time of the backlight battery, the backlight battery voltage is measured at a predetermined time after the power is applied to the backlight and compared with the first predetermined voltage exceeding the threshold voltage of the backlight battery. If the measured voltage is less than the first predefined voltage, the measured voltage is compared with the second predefined voltage between the first predefined voltage and the threshold voltage. A warning regarding the full discharge of the battery is displayed if the measured voltage is less than the second preset voltage.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at improving battery monitoring and providing the possibility of replacing the backlight battery to a full discharge.
