FIELD: environmental protection.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection, in particular to neutralization of acid mine water of coal basins containing increased concentrations of metal ions, especially iron and sulfate ions. A method for neutralization of acid mine water consists in introduction in drains of a neutralizing reagent, which is wastewater of melamine production of PJSC Metafrax, characterized by pH=8.7, COC of 36 mg/dm3, BOC5 of 3 mg/dm3, dry residue of 24,934 mg/dm3 and containing 52.94 mg/dm3 of NH4+, 31.97 mg/dm3 of melamine, 21,403.2 mg/dm3 of Na2CO3, 3,523.98 mg/dm3 of NaHCO3, 307.28 mg/dm3 of NaOH, and 10 mg/dm3 of suspended substances. At the same time, the neutralizing reagent is supplied by dosed drainage into a reaction zone – a channel of self-discharge of acid mine water – with subsequent supply of purified drains to a settling tank.

EFFECT: method provides cheapening of a neutralization process and simplification of a technological process.
