SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for locating a beacon system. The technical result is achieved by placing a beacon equipped with a GPS receiver and a radio transceiver on the search object, whereon the beacon, periodically or on command from the repeater or terminal, sends a digital packet with the beacon location coordinates. The repeater is installed on the search object, and the object is raised. If a signal is received from the beacon, the signal is broadcast, and the received packets are recorded on a memory card. After the repeater returns, the digital packet with the coordinates is read from the files recorded on the memory card of the repeater and transmitted from the receiving terminal to a computer, smart phone, or tablet in order to display the location of the beacon on an electronic map. Search for the beacon is arranged. The beacon is set via a computer or smart phone to the normal or economy mode. The beacon and the repeater have the following settings: changing the 5-character name of the beacon, changing the interval of the broadcast packets, and changing the radio frequency.
