SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to the treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus complicated by peripheral distal sensorimotor polyneuropathy, and can be used at the stage of spa treatment, and outside of resort conditions. In the conditions of a medical institution against the background of a spa regime, depending on the severity of diabetes, the nature of complications and concomitant diseases, diet, antihyperglycemic and hypotensive drugs if necessary, internal intake of mineral water and mineral baths from chloride-sulfate-hydrocarbonate sodium mineral water with a mineralization of 4.4 g/l, with a CO₂ content of 615 mg/l, temperature 35-36 degrees, with a duration of 12-15 minutes, for a course of 10 procedures every other day, vitamin therapy is prescribed: Milgamma compositum 1 pill 3 times a day during the spa treatment. In combination with balneo- and vitamin therapy, an electrostimulating effect is used.

EFFECT: method provides improvement of clinical symptoms characterizing the manifestations of diabetes mellitus: weight loss, normalization and reduction of hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, lipid peroxidation indicators, as well as reduction of pathological manifestations of diabetic polyneuropathy.
