FIELD: water-cooled nuclear reactors.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to water-cooled nuclear reactors, namely to methods for organizing the water-chemistry regime at existing and planned nuclear power plants of various types. Chemically desalted water is prepared with a specific electrical conductivity of not more than 1 mcS/cm, a pH value in the range of 6-8, which undergoes mechanical filtration. Then it is mixed with finely dispersed zinc oxide powder with a specific surface area of more than 15 m2/g to obtain an aqueous suspension, which is then subjected to ultrasonic treatment and subsequent purification from large particles to obtain an aggregate-resistant colloidal solution with zinc oxide particles no larger than 0.35 mcm. and zinc oxide concentration in the range from 0.1 to 2.5 g/dm3.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the efficiency and radiation safety of nuclear power plants with water-cooled nuclear reactors due to the formation of a continuous and stable protective film of zinc-containing spinel on the surfaces of the primary circuits of water-cooled nuclear reactors.
