FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: when preparing suboxide-oxide the raw material used is in form of waste sintered pellets, grinding dust and UO2 powder with content of U235, U236 and other uranium isotopes different from that required by technical specifications. When preparing the moulding powder, the obtained suboxide-oxide is added to the mixture in amount of up to 20 wt %, where the content of U235, U236 and other uranium isotopes required by technical specifications is achieved by varying the amount of adding the suboxide-oxide into the mixture separately, as well as in mixtures with UO2 powder depending on content of U235, U236 and other uranium isotopes.
EFFECT: density which is close to normal, low open porosity and caking capacity, homogeneous microstructure of fuel pellets with uniform volume distribution of pores, controlled size and shape of pores.
