FIELD: oil refining.
SUBSTANCE: The invention relates to oil refining, specifically to a method for producing a bitumen binder with improved performance. The method involves heating bitumen, adding oil and a modifier to it and mixing the resulting mixture. The bio-oil produced by rapid pyrolysis of wood biomass and characterized by a density of 1.12-1.21 g/ml and a water content of 20-45% is used as an oil, and heated to a temperature of 180 °C, either hydrophobized silicon dioxide or organomodified montmorillonite is used as a modifier, and after mixing the mixture is kept in a heated state for 30-60 minutes with the following ratio of components, wt. %: specified bio-oil 5-10, hydrophobized silicon dioxide or organomodified montmorillonite 5-30, bitumen - the rest.
EFFECT: The present invention enables to produce higher viscoelastic characteristics of the bitumen binder at normal and elevated temperatures with higher cohesive strength, as well as with higher strength of the adhesive joints formed by the bitumen binder.
