FIELD: wireless communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of wireless communication. The communication method includes: determining, by the network node, downlink control information about at least one period of time during which the user equipment must monitor the wake-up signal for decoding, and the specified downlink control information contains indications of at least one of the configuration or operation mode for said user equipment to dynamically control said monitoring of said wake-up signal for said decoding, wherein said indications indicate whether said wake-up signal should be monitored for said at least one period of time prior to the start of the on-duration associated with the at least one discontinuous reception pattern provided to the user equipment; and causing signaling of the physical downlink control channel containing said downlink control information to said user equipment.
EFFECT: enabling the user equipment to dynamically adapt its monitoring and use of wake-up signal control and configuration (WUS) operations.
