The expiration date indicator (marker) is a package or an integral part of the package (lid, bottom, fragment of the packaging wall) made of a composition of polycaprolactone (PCL), calcium phosphate and starch in proportions determined for each specific case, regulating the rate of biodegradation, providing the possibility of visual control (due to the destruction of the indicator in a strictly defined period of time) and obtaining empirical information on the shelf life of products with a wide range of acceptable expiry dates used by a wide range of consumers with relative simplicity, cheapness and manufacturability.
