FIELD: wireless communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of wireless network technologies and, in particular, to a method for access to a channel and a device for transmission via a physical random access channel (hereinafter – PRACH). The method includes stages, at which, by means of a terminal device, a type of access to a target channel is determined, and it is determined, in accordance with the type of access to the target channel, whether a target resource of a time domain is accessible. The type of access to the target channel is a type of access to a channel, used by the terminal device for PRACH transmission on an unlicensed carrier. The target resource of the time domain is a resource of a time domain, used by the terminal device for PRACH sending.
EFFECT: improvement of the performance of a communication system due to a possibility of taking into account a type of access to a channel.
