SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of performing a random access procedure. A random access request in a random access procedure is transmitted on a terminal apparatus to a network apparatus. In response to receiving from the network apparatus, during the random access procedure, the provision of an uplink resource for the terminal apparatus, the correspondence of the size indicated by the provision of an uplink resource to the size of the packet data block stored in the buffer of the terminal apparatus is determined. A block of sub-packet data is included in the transmission after determining that the size indexed by providing an uplink resource does not correspond to the size of the packet data block stored in the buffer.
EFFECT: reduced load between preambles.
