SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to endoscopy, ultrasound diagnostics, gastroenterology and coloproctology, and is intended for differential diagnosis of such diseases in the acute stage as ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD). An endoscopic ultrasonographic study is performed to identify specific signs of the disease. When such ultrasonic signs are detected as circular and diffuse thickening of the intestinal wall due to the muco-submucosal layer, the absence of visualization of the muco-submucosal layer in limited areas, as well as the presence of focal thickening of the muco-submucosal layer, an exacerbation of ulcerative colitis is diagnosed. When a thickening of the intestinal wall is detected due to all its visualized layers, segmentation of the lesion of the colon wall; the absence of differentiation of the mucous, submucosal and muscular layers and the presence of hyperechoic inclusions from the side of the intestinal lumen, penetrating into the wall thickness, ending in incomplete internal fistulas, Crohn's disease is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method allows to increase the accuracy and efficiency of the differential diagnosis of ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease in the acute stage by assessing the totality of the most important indicators.
