FIELD: medicine; gastroenterology; coloproctology.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for diagnostics of degree of activity of ulcerative colitis (UC). Blood serum is sampled from a patient with ulcerative colitis and analyzed by enzyme immunoassay for concentration of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1). And if the IGF-1 concentration is from 147 to 199 ng/ml, the UC remission stage is diagnosed, if the IGF-1 concentration is from 108 to 146 ng/ml, the minimum degree of UC activity is diagnosed, if the IGF-1 concentration is 56 to 107 ng/ml, a moderate degree of UC activity is diagnosed, and if the IGF-1 concentration is 55 ng/ml or less, the pronounced degree of UC activity is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method provides higher accuracy and efficiency of diagnosing the presence of colon inflammation in ulcerative colitis by determining the concentration of insulin-like growth factor I by enzyme immunoassay.
